Mímesis
Explorations of perception and embodiment
— Awarded 2nd Prize, 70th Abeja de Oro (2025) —
Mímesis is a visual exploration of how the human figure dissolves into its surroundings. Through layered portraits, blurred textures, and subtle distortions, the body becomes intertwined with nature, memory, and symbolic matter.
The images occupy the threshold between reality and perception—where presence becomes fluid, identity shifts, and the boundaries between self and environment momentarily disappear.
The series investigates the ways in which memory shapes the image, transforming faces and gestures into reflections of an inner landscape that remains only partially visible.
